A Cozy Gem with Amazing Food and Coffee From the moment you step in, the wood-fired warmth creates such a welcoming atmosphere. The highlight for me was the 3-cheese toasted sandwich—crispy on the outside, with the perfect melt of gooey cheese on the inside. It was comfort food at its finest. To pair with it, I had their smooth coffee, and wow, it was the perfect match. The coffee was rich yet not overpowering, smooth with just the right amount of depth. It's one of those cups you can sip slowly and savor. The vibe is relaxed, and the combination of great food and drinks makes this place stand out. If you’re in the area, definitely check it out!

I have been to Pompeii wood fired café twice now. The first time I had the Banh mi calzone which was a taste sensation! I actually said OMG as I took my first mouthful. The second time we shared a Pompeii and a Reuben calzone, and again the flavors were incredible. The coffee is excellent as are the Portuguese tarts. I would highly recommend!

A gorgeous little cafe, has a very down to earth, bustling but intimate atmosphere. Super friendly owners. Had the cheese toastie, the name did not do it justice, the bread was so fresh and the garlic butter made it perfect! You can tell they make all their dough fresh on site.

A new refreshing cafe in Mt Helen with a wood fired oven built by the owner. He makes all the dough for the calzones and focaccias which are next level delicious. There’s some gorgeous slices made in house and the coffee is the best in Ballarat. Definitely worth a try.

WOW. Why did I wait do long to visit this place. Beautifully warm. Great and friendly service. Smooth coffee... and the Calzone Sandwiches - AWESOME. I had a sensational Bahn Mi Calzone and my taste buds exploded. I'll be back for more. Did I mention the pistachio Raspberry Almond Croissant - YUM!! Do yourself a favour and drop in. You won't regret it

I have visited this new cafe at Mt Helen four times now. I think the coffee is excellent. The atmosphere is rustic and fabulous. I love the wood fired oven that is used to cook the most delicious calzone sandwiches. I’ve had two so far and they are delicious. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. It offers a niche menu with the Calzones and other home baked goods. So far, I highly recommend a visit.

Pompeii Woodfired Cafe has been on my wishlist since they opened, and they did not disappoint. The cafe is rustic and welcoming. Sunshine streaming through the window was a welcome sight on a chilly Ballarat Winter's day. I ordered their reuben which was delicious and a perfect combination of a traditional reuben, but reimagined on a woodfired calzone! My daughter ordered the "pompeii" which she really enjoyed, too. After a short rest, we followed up and shared the donuts with butterscotch sauce. Truly scrummy (and a dollop of icecream would have really topped it off perfectly, in my humble opinion). Well worth the visit for food that is nourishing, consciously-prepared and different to the norm. We loved it! Thank you for a lovely experience.

A lovely cafe with a twist! We went super early and got a calzone egg and bacon sandwich. So yum!! Very impressive coffee knowledge and taste. Wish we had time to sit down and relax here as it was such a lovely vibe
